ESG Commitment
Founded in 1926 by Maria Gottifredi, the company has always placed responsibility towards the environment and the community at the core of its values, promoting innovative practices that ensure not only excellent performance but also a long-term positive impact from an environmental, economic, and social perspective.
For several years, we have chosen to use only Bio-Based Dyneema® for our production, which allows for a significant reduction in CO2 impact through a certified recycling system for raw materials.
The most iconic products of the One Design line are now “plastic neutral”, thanks to our collaboration with Ogyre, a B corp aiming to the conservation of the oceans through “Fishing for Litter”.
Our commitment is that for every kilogram of these lines sold, an equivalent amount of plastic is recovered from the sea.
To optimize production economies, we adopt Lean Manufacturing methodologies, optimizing resources and minimizing waste, using 30% of energy from renewable sources, and promoting recycling within the company. This focus is directed not only inward but also outward: we engage in various activities to promote the local economy in Novara and collaborate, whenever possible, with local suppliers, thereby also reducing the environmental impact related to transportation.
Since its founding years, the company has played a socially responsible role towards the families of the Sant’Agabio neighborhood in Novara, with generations succeeding one another in working at the rope factory. Gender equality and inclusivity have always been fundamental values for the Maffioli family, starting with Maria Gottifredi, who founded the company twenty years before women were granted the right to vote. With a team of collaborators equally divided between 50% men and 50% women, and a strict equal pay policy, we create a positive and stimulating work environment where personal and professional growth is strongly encouraged.
